Small Group Learning

Why small classes?

Small Group Learning is the Great Start Music School alternative to private music lessons. In our Small Group Learning program, the 50-minute classes are small - 2 to 4 children per group; allowing for both individual attention from the teacher and pair/share time with other students. The small group environment fosters within each student a sense of belonging and agency in their learning process, making our classes engaging and dynamic - filled with the joy of making music together! 

Who are our students?

Great Start Music's Small Group Program is geared toward early Elementary School-age children (grades K-3) as an alternative to private music lessons. 

• We currently offer instrumental classes in violin and viola, beginner through intermediate levels.
• Students are grouped by level and approximate age.
• We are happy to accept "pre-made" groups! 

What does the Small Group Program include?

Our program includes per week:

1. One 50 minute in-person small group class.
2. One 10 minute one-on-one session with the teacher over Zoom.
3. Music and practice videos for each lesson.
